The new sausage is 'The Gloucestershire Oldspots Sausage with cider' which is the result of combining hand boned cuts of rare breed Gloucestershire Oldspots pork with a blend of sage, marjoram and pepper, together with cider and apples.

Based on a traditional Victorian recipe, it tastes like sausages used to taste when made from slower maturing traditional breeds like the Oldspots, reared in cider orchards in the Severn Valley. Legend has it that the spots were bruises caused by windfall fruit!

Making wonderful sausages has become a family tradition started by my great-grandfather in 1881.

Four generations later, I am delighted to bring you this Traditional English Sausage based on a recipe dating back to victorian times.

This recipe combines 70% prime, hand-boned English pork with sage, marjoram and a hint of pepper. This gold medal winning sausage really does 'Taste like sausages used to taste'!

The Traditional Extra Lean Sausage contains less than 5% fat and is made using lean cuts of prime fresh pork. Containing only 52 calories per sausage, it is listed by SLIMMING WORLD magazine as 'Sin Free'! Ideal for a low carbohydrate diet.

A Gluten Free sausage is also available, based on our award-winning Newmarket recipe, but with no additives or gluten.
